I keep my pricing simple, transparent, and fair. Most customers fall into the standard rates below:

Initial call-out - £30

Covers travel, assessment and advice.

CCTV inspection - £30

High-definition camera inspection to diagnose blockages, damage or draw issues.

Sweep visit (includes call-out) - £70

Full chimney sweep using professional equipment, plus a certificate for your records (accepted by landlords, solicitors and insurers).

Bird nest removal (includes sweep + CCTV) - £100

Safe, professional removal of bird nests, followed by a sweep and full camera check.

Additional Information

Prices may vary depending on the condition of the chimney or the work required.
If extra time is needed beyond the standard appointment, an hourly rate may apply.

Certification is included where required for insurance, landlord compliance or legal documentation.

Chimney problems and solutions

Chimney Problems & CCTV Inspections

If your fire is smoking, not drawing properly, or you suspect a blockage, a CCTV inspection is the quickest way to diagnose the problem. I use high-quality camera equipment to check for:

  • Birds’ nests
  • Cracks or damage
  • Blockages
  • Creosote or tar build-up

Once the issue is found, I’ll talk you through the safest and most cost-effective solution.

Creosote Treatment

Creosote treatment can be carried out on request. This helps break down tar and wet-wood deposits that build up inside a flue. Left untreated, creosote can become hazardous, so regular sweeping and the right fuel choice are important.

The Frequency between sweeps will depend on different factors:

  • The type of appliance you have.
  • The amount of use of the appliance.
  • Whether you use coal or wood fuel.  Smokeless fuel is at least once a year.  Wood twice yearly, especially in the winter months.  Oil and Gas once yearly
  • The type of chimney at your property.

  • The fire is taking to long to ignite and is burning slower than it normally would.
  • Smoke is back tracking back into the room.
  • A smell from the chimney when not in use.
  • Thick black creosole appearing down your chimney onto the appliance or fire place.
  • Noise, scratching. Twigs, falling down the chimney … could be a sign of Birds present.( The enclosed warm environment a chimney provides, can provide a great shelter for wildlife. This is very commonly found.

Using damp, wet fuel can be a health hazard and is also very harmful to the environment.
